Third Street Elementary PTA is happy to welcome you to our fine school. PTA (Parent Teacher Association) is a well-known national volunteer organization of parents, school staff and community members who work together to promote the education and well-being of our children. It is a fact that parent participation at schools makes good schools great.

PTA and Friends of Third are parent volunteer groups that work separately, yet hand in hand to make our school a great school. PTA works to inform parents and children of important matters like traffic safety, to do community service, to support library programs, to encourage student art, and to celebrate our faculty and staff. Friends of Third raises money to provide needed adjuncts to our children's education like the Technology Lab, full-time library staff, and music teachers which are not paid for by LAUSD and are expensive. PTA meets with Friends of Third at 8.15 a.m. on the first Friday of each month.

PTA membership is open to all parents, grandparents, the entire family, and all your friends who want to support Third Street PTA. Dues, only $10 per member, make our positive presence on campus possible and support national and state programs.

Please support our organization with your dues. Additional donations included with membership solely benefit Third Street PTA and are greatly appreciated, alonf with your valuable time and involvement. Your children will benefit when you share your time, talents, ideas, and join PTA. Membership envelopes will be sent home in your child's backpack. We will be having three Sprinkles Cupcakes sponsored Sprinkles Cupcake & Ice Cream Parties for the top participating classes in the school. Choose your favorite flavor topped with yellow/blue Sprinkles dots.The Third Street Elementary School Signature Cupcake design, one of three to be chosen, will be selected by the children of Third Street School by an offical ballot taken class by class. Participating, getting involved, joining the PTA, and supporting Third Street Elementary School is something we can all take pride in.
