Schoolwide Assembly
There will be a schoolwide assembly for students on Monday, October 12 from 9:00 to 9:20 AM. The link and password to join is the same as previous assemblies and will be emailed/texted via our Blackboard system on Monday morning.
Future schoolwide assemblies for the remainder of 2020 are scheduled for 11/2 (Spirit Day), 11/16, 11/30, 12/7 (Spirit Day), and 12/14.
COVID-19 Student Testing
Parents/Guardians now have the opportunity to have their child tested for COVID-19 at an LAUSD testing center. While participation is not mandatory at this time, the District is strongly recommending it as information gained from these initial tests will provide valuable data for the medical and science experts who are working with the District to develop its plan for a safer return to in-person instruction. Please see the attached letter below on how to schedule a testing appointment.
3RD Street GIfted Magnet Center
Did you know that 3rd Street Elementary is opening a grade 3-5 Gifted Magnet Center beginning the 2021-22 academic year? For more information about the magnet center and how to apply, check out https://www.thirdstreetschool.com/giftedmagnetcenter or the post below.
CHOICES
LAUSD is now accepting applications for the 2021-22 academic year for the following programs: Magnets, Permits With Transportation, Dual Language Education, Schools for Advanced Studies, Admission Criteria Schools, Affiliated Charter Schools and Zones of Choice. The early application window closes November 13, 2020. The application to Highly Gifted schools will not be open until Spring 2021.
