Schoolwide Assembly
There will be a schoolwide assembly for students on Monday, November 16 from 9:00 to 9:20 AM. At the end of the assembly, two parents volunteers will be giving a brief intro to mindfulness, model a family mindfulness activity, and then segue into the topic of gratitude. This portion of the assembly is optional.
The link and password to join will be emailed/texted via our Blackboard system on Monday morning.
Return to Campus Family Guide
This week, all families will receive a Return to Campus Family Guide from LAUSD. The guide is intended to:
1) outline the two instructional models that will be available for families when it is safe for students to physically return to our campuses, and
2) provide information on the health and safety practices that our school and LAUSD have put in place to ensure the well-being of everyone in our Los Angeles Unified community.
While the District has yet to identify a return to campus date, every family is being asked to complete the Program Selection form at reopening.lausd.net/familyselection beginning Monday, November 16 and by Sunday, December 6, 2020.
Additional details about our return to campus will be provided at the Fairfax Community of Schools Town Hall Meeting this Thursday, November 19. Details about the meeting can be found below.
Fairfax Community of Schools Town Hall Meeting
Every month, the Community of Schools that 3rd Street belongs to holds a Town Hall Meeting hosted by our local district and our Community of Schools Administrator. This month's meeting is on Thursday, November 19 at 5 PM. Register at https://tinyurl.com/Fairfax-CoS-TownHall-November.
Thanksgiving Break
There will be no school between Monday, November 23 and Friday, November 27 in observance of Thanksgiving.
School Experience Survey
The School Experience Survey is an annual survey administered in the fall to all LAUSD schools. Survey results provide schools with important feedback from teachers, staff, students and parents. This year survey's administration window is from October 26 to January 22 (recently extended). To protect the health and safety of everyone in the LAUSD school community, all parents are highly encouraged to complete their survey online if possible. A limited number of paper copies are available and can be requested at the main office.
