School Holiday

There is no school on Monday, May 31 in observance of Memorial Day.











Community Meeting

Join Principal Kim, PTA, and FOT at this year's last Community Meeting this Friday, June 4 at 9:30 AM, as they provide our school with the latest news and updates. The Zoom link and password will be shared via Blackboard Connect text on Friday morning.









COVID-19 Testing Update

Due to the Memorial Day holiday, our weekly COVID-19 testing has been rescheduled to Thursday, June 10.


Testing for Grade 5 Students Returning to Campus for Culmination Activities

Fifth grade students who are learning virtually from home who would like to participate in Field Day on Thursday, June 10 are required to be COVID-19 tested within seven days of coming on to campus. The following testing options are available:


  1. Testing at 3rd Street on Thursday, June 3 between 10:30-11:30 AM. Students will be tested right outside the auditorium doors off of June Street.

  2. Testing at John Burroughs Middle School on June 7 or June 8. Appointments are required and can be made at https://www.burroughsms.org/.

  3. Testing at an independent testing center.

Students should bring a copy of their negative result with them.


Device Return Update (change in bold)

With only two weeks of school remaining, we will begin collecting school issued tech devices (iPads, Chromebooks and hotspots) from our students.


  • All students in AM/PM online classes are to drop-off all devices to the main entrance off of June Street between Monday, June 7 to June 11, between 8:30 am – 3:00 pm.

  • All students in hybrid classes will return their devices to their classroom teacher between Monday, June 7 to June 11.

  • Students who no longer need a device can drop them off at the main entrance off June Street on any day of the week between 8:30 am and 3 pm. Email Helen Lee, hkl4967@lausd.net or call 323-939-8337 with any questions.

  • TK-Grade 4 students who have signed up for LAUSD's summer program may keep their device. Please email your child's teacher (in-person students) or Helen Lee (online students) a copy of your summer school registration confirmation.
