Closing Letter
Schoolwide Assembly
Our last schoolwide assembly (live) for students will be tomorrow, Monday, June 7 at 8:40 AM. We will be celebrating spirit day. Students are encouraged to wear a 3rd Street shirt or blue and gold. The Zoom link and password will be emailed and texted via our Blackboard system on Monday at 8 AM.
COVID-19 Testing
There will be no COVID-19 testing on campus this week. Fifth grade students who are learning virtually from home who would like to participate in Field Day on Thursday, June 10 are required to be COVID-19 tested within seven days of coming on to campus. The following testing options are available:
Testing at John Burroughs Middle School on June 7 or June 8. Appointments are required and can be made at https://www.burroughsms.org/.
Testing at an independent testing center.
Students should bring a copy of their negative result with them.
Faculty Farewell
Two of our teachers will be leaving 3rd Street this year. Mr. Bassett (grade 4) is retiring and Ms. Byham (grade 5) has been promoted to be an reading intervention coordinator at another school. Device Return Update (change in bold)
With only one week of school remaining, we will continue to collect school issued tech devices (iPads, Chromebooks and hotspots) from our students.
All students in AM/PM online classes are to drop-off all devices to the main entrance off of June Street between Monday, June 7 to June 11, between 8:30 am – 3:00 pm.
All students in hybrid classes will return their devices to their classroom teacher between Monday, June 7 to June 11.
TK-Grade 4 students who have signed up for LAUSD's summer program may keep their device. Please email your child's teacher (in-person students) or Helen Lee (online students) a copy of your summer school registration confirmation.
When returning IPADS, please be sure to disable/clear any passwords or reset the IPAD so that we have access to the device.

Summer Break
The last day of instruction is Friday, June 11. Summer break is from 6/14/21 to 8/13/21. The 2021-22 school year begins on Monday, 8/16/21.
The main office will remain open till 6/25 between 9-3 PM and reopen on 7/21 between 9-3 PM.
