There will be NO schoolwide assembly on Monday, September 28 as it is an LAUSD "Unassigned Day" in honor of Yom Kippur. The next schoolwide assembly will be on Monday, October 5. Grade 3-5 students interested in presenting or helping Principal Kim at an upcoming assembly can e-mail him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Join Principal Kim, PTA, and FOT at October's Community Meeting will be held on Friday, October 9 at 3 PM as they provide our school with the latest news and updates. The meeting will also feature guest speakers, Katherine Choe (principal of Mar Vista Elementary) and Jennifer Yoo (principal of Portola Highly Gifted Magnet Middle School), who will be speaking about LAUSD magnet schools and the magnet school application process (CHOICES). The Zoom link and password will be shared via Blackboard Connect.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee
This past summer, 3rd Street Elementary formed its first Diverstiy, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee. The committee is currently looking for parents interested in being a part of it. Leaders United for Change
3rd Street Elementary is patnering with Leaders United for Change, a student run organization dedicated to providing free academic mentoring in subjects such as mathematics, writing, science, and test preparation. Mentors are from schools such as Harvard Westlake, Marlborough and alumni from Harvard, Stanford, Princeton, Yale and more!
