Periodic COVID Testing
Periodic COVID Testing continues this week and will be held on Monday, 8/30. Due to Labor Day, our next periodic testing will be on 9/13. Till then, students will continue to be able to create a Daily Pass QR code.
In order for a child to be tested, parent consent must be on file. If a student received their baseline test or was tested previously with LAUSD, parent consent is already on file. If a student has never tested with LAUSD, then the parent must provide their consent. LAUSD is now allowing parents to grant consent through the Daily Pass Dashboard. Blackboard Connect Messaging
Many of our communications from our school are typically sent via phone, email, and text through our Blackboard Connect Mass Communication System. On 8/25/21, an email and text message was sent to all parents notifying the school of our first positive COVID case. The following database lists all e-mails and/or phone numbers where our message was unsuccessfully delivered to.
If you have NOT been receiving our Blackboard Connect e-mails and text messages, please check the list using your child's Student ID number. Students IDs are listed in ascending order. Parents can also use the find feature (Control + F / Command + F) to look up their child's Student ID.
If "TextPendingOptIn" is listed next to your child's Student ID, it means that the phone number is not enabled to receive texts.
If "TextOptedOut" is listed next to your child's Student ID, it means that the phone number has opted out of receiving texts from our school. To opt back in, text "START LAUSD" to 91841.

Beyond the Bell Pick-Up Procedures
Grade 2-5 students participating in Beyond the Bell's afterschool Youth Services Program can be picked up from our June Street B exit. Please text your child's name and grade to substitute supervisor, Jackline Henrequez at 619-817-1671 when you arrive.
Students in KidsKor can also be requested at the June Street B exit.
Fairfax Community of Schools Townhall Meeting
Every month, the Community of Schools that 3rd Street belongs to holds a Town Hall Meeting hosted by our local district and our Community of Schools Administrator. This month's meeting is on Tuesday, August 31 at 5 PM. Register at: https://lausd.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_zY9C-Z9YRPqgazDmzNFnFA.
KDLP Parent Meeting
There will be a Zoom parent meeting for all Korean Dual Language Parents on Wednesday, September 1 at 6:00 PM. The purpose of the meeting is to provide parents with an overview and updates on the program. The Zoom link will be e-mailed and texted Wednesday morning.
School Meals for Quarrantining Students
Students who need to quarantine can still receive LAUSD meals. If your child is currently quarantining due to a class closure and you'd like meals for your child, please e-mail cafeteria manager, Hawa Sylla, at mxs8604@lausd.net by Monday, 3:00 PM.
Masks
Please help keep our community safe by ensuring that your child is wearing an appropriate mask. Should a student be wearing a mask with exhalation valves or vents, we will provide them with a different mask to wear.
Labor Day/Admission Day Holiday
There is no school from Friday, September 3 through Tuesday, September 7.
School resumes on Wednesday, September 8.
