SCHOOL HOLIDAY - CESAR CHAVEZ DAY

In honor of the birth and legacy of the civil rights and labor movement activist Cesar Chavez, there is no school on Monday, March 28, 2022.




REVISED GUIDANCE REGARDING COVID-19 EXPOSURE MANAGEMENT (POST-SURGE)

  • Indoor masking at Los Angeles Unified sites will be strongly recommended, but not required, for employees, students and visitors at Los Angeles Unified elementary campuses (ETK - grade 5) and in all non-school locations (including school buses and vans). This guidance does not apply to students, employees, and visitors at PALS classrooms; masking is still required for all individuals in those settings.

  • Employees eligible for shortened isolation must continue to mask at all times, indoors and outdoors, through Day 10. This protocol also applies to ETK and PALS students.

  • Students eligible for shortened isolation are not required, but strongly encouraged to mask at all times, indoors and outdoors, through Day 10.

  • LAUSD schools will continue to use a “group tracing” (instead of individual tracing) approach to identify TK-12 students with potential exposure to a positive case in the school setting. Group tracing does not apply to employees, ETK and PALS students. Individual contact tracing must be used for these individuals.


REVISED CAMPUS ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR PARENTS/ GUARDIANS


FAIRFAX COMMUNITY OF SCHOOLS TOWN HALL MEETING

Every month, the Community of Schools that 3rd Street belongs to holds a Town Hall Meeting hosted by our local district and our Community of Schools Administrator. This month's meeting is on Tuesday, March 29 at 5 PM. Register at https://tinyurl.com/FairfaxMarch29.


COMMUNITY MEETING


SPIRIT DAY

Spirit Day is Friday, April 1. This month's spirit day theme is pajama day. Students can wear a PJ top, PJ bottom, or both! Students should wear appropriate shoes...no bed slippers please.


PERIODIC COVID TESTING

Our COVID periodic testing this week will take place on Tuesday, March 28.
