MEET OUR NEW PRINCIPAL - HELEN LEE
It is with great honor and excitement that I write this message to you as principal of 3rd Street Elementary. I have been serving this community as coordinator and assistant principal for past 8 years, and I will continue to ambitiously serve this school with a special place in my heart. During my interview for this position, I shared that 3rd Street Elementary is my second home where I feel free to share my joy and happiness. I do not say those words lightly and greatly thank all of you that have made 3rd Street the place it is. My primary goal is to continue building a positive and safe learning environment for the success of student achievement. It is crucial for me to have strong working relationships with all the teachers, staff members, and parents and community for our children to thrive. And with that, I look forward to working in partnership with everyone this school year.
SCHOOL PICTURE DAY
School picture day is this Wednesday, September 21. Please send an order form with your child if you would like to purchase picture(s). Your child will bring the ordering form this week.
OUR SCHOOL IN THE NEWS
Third Street was on the local news! Check out Mrs. Lee and some of her 4th grade students as they demonstrate and talk about our school’s new social emotional program, Making Caring Common: https://ktla.com/video/la-unified-school-district-pilots-program-fostering-kindness-in-local-schools/8002969/.
Special thanks to our Third Street administration, program ambassadors Ms. H. Lee and Ms. Hong, Mrs. Lee and her class, and first grade parent Jocelyn Kalsmith for their stewardship and support. This program, and so many others, is made possible by your generous donations to Friends of Third.

Please remind that next two week’s valet classroom assignments are room 26 (Mr. Han) and room 20 (Ms. Sung). Traffic duty is during drop-off (7:45-8:10 am) at the designated area. Parents can sign-up to support the car line at https://www.thirdstreetschool.com/traffic.
